Advocacy and Community Awareness

Members of this committee serve, in part, as a watchdog for legislative news and issues concerning services that pertain to transitioning youth. From federal policies such as the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, to local issues such as school based programming changes, the advocacy committee can alert council members to how these changes may impact students, either positively or negatively. This allows the ACTC to look proactively at how these changes can be addressed by the full membership.

Under community awareness, the committee will also look to expand the knowledge base of the Council by reviewing the membership and inviting other partners to join. The committee will also examine how to share the mission of the Council to all sectors of the community, including businesses and private sector entities.
